The type of services available

We can offer investigative work in many aspects ranging from visual assessments for some of the basic level of support required, up to on site attendance with Scenes Of Crime Officers to assist with ensuring as much evidence and assessment as possible is taken from the scene.

There are some cases where our findings do not run in parallel with the initial concept of what a situation might have been. However we have found this to be just as useful in assisting alternative concepts and has been useful to eliminate ideas and therefore saving valuable police time in not going down the wrong pathway.

In addition we are experienced in preparing and providing an Expert Witness Statement for use in court to support our findings.

Regular or common services

Examples of the common types of work undertaken:

Rebuilding of locks from the remaining small components detonated by the emergency services on a forced entry to reach a victim and establishing if a key found relating to a suspect is indeed an operational key for that lock.

We assess and provide guidance on locks, such as in attending properties where people are reported to be kept imprisoned, we can assess and provide details on the ease or difficulty of escape from the premises and or if any exits have signs of having had a change of locks, or had locks tampered with to disguise the ability to hold people against their will.

We offer replication of forced entry relating to burglary and have provided video evidence of a reconstruction using seized evidence to enact the gain entry.

Mailbox theft is also common and used to obtain details for identity theft and we can assess keys that have been seized in evidence and relate them to houses of multiple occupancy where large banks of mailboxes are common.

Arson can often damage scenes of crime but we can also carry out some supportive investigation to the condition of the locks / keys and advise if the type of lock would or could have prevented keyless egress for anyone left inside the premises.

We can work with Scenes Of Crime Officers and carefully remove existing locks at a scene to be taken away for evidence and in turn re-secure the property, allowing the police to be able to vacate the premises knowing the building is secure.
